What is Physical Fitness?
Physical fitness has different meanings to different people. To me, it simply means being able to do what you want, when you want. This can range from playing with your kids at the park to competing in a triathlon. For some, the most difficult thing to do is starting a fitness regimen. Believe me, we have all been there! Fitness is a three dimensional endeavor. There is the physical aspect (doing the work), the mental aspect (wanting to do the work), and the nutritional aspect. I cannot stress the importance of proper nutrition enough. We have been conditioned our entire lives to 'clean the plate'. Wasting food is always a no-no, especially in these trying financial times. The key is to keep it simple. Eating balanced, varied meals is the blueprint to proper nutrition. Portion control is also an important consideration. If you have no idea of where to start when it comes to nutrition, consult a Registered Dietitian to assist you.
